At the heart of PuzzleStories are two recurring characters, CoCo and Wilbo. These best friends are on a big mission to spread as much kindness as they can. They’re traveling to new places, meeting inspiring people, and delivering warm pies along the way.

meet the founder

Emmanuel Williams-Smith, the founder of PuzzleStories, is an adventurous soul who loves bringing joy and kindness to every new place he visits. His passion for learning in unique ways is what inspired PuzzleStories.
As a longtime word-search solver,
After every puzzle, he’d just turn the page and start another one. The words he found didn’t lead to anything; it felt incomplete, like they mattered... but he kept leaving them behind to start a new puzzle.

That simple idea turned into something bigger: finding words and weaving them into wonderful stories kids (and adults) can enjoy. He’s also a true pie lover, so it only made sense to create a world where stories, adventure, and a warm slice of pie are always part of the journey.

CoCo is the curious raccoon who helps lead every PuzzleStories adventure. With his signature green backpack and camera always ready, CoCo loves exploring new places, learning new things, and capturing special moments along the way.
When CoCo and Wilbo arrive somewhere new, CoCo is usually the first to look around—spotting small details, finding clues, and helping navigate their route. He asks thoughtful questions, investigates puzzle challenges, and uses his sharp eye to notice what others might miss. And when something meaningful happens, CoCo snaps a photo—because every adventure deserves to be remembered.
CoCo represents curiosity, exploration, and learning about the world. He reminds young readers that it’s okay to wonder, to ask questions, and to keep going until things make sense—because every great discovery starts with curiosity.

Meet Wilbo (pronounced “Wilb-OE”)

Heart of the Team • Encourager • Pie Maker

Wilbo (pronounced “Wilb-OE”) is a gentle pink bear and the heart of PuzzleStories. Wearing his signature blue overalls and often carrying a warm pie, Wilbo brings kindness and comfort wherever the journey goes.
Wilbo is thoughtful and emotionally aware—he notices when someone feels nervous, left out, or unsure, and he’s the first to offer reassurance. When challenges show up, Wilbo keeps the team steady by encouraging teamwork and reminding everyone that there’s always a way forward. He believes that small acts—sharing, helping, listening—can change the whole mood of a moment.
Wilbo represents empathy, sharing, and emotional intelligence. He shows young readers that being kind is a strength, and that the best adventures are the ones where everyone feels safe and supported.
